Emerging Artist Award

In 2003, Sankofa Fine Art Plus established the Emerging Artist Award program to recognize and provide financial assistance to artists who are committed the establishing themselves as professional artists. This group was targeted because there proved to be a need for recognition and resources for these artists to pursue their craft while persevering economically. You are considered an Emerging Artist if you have never had a solo show and have an admissible body of work. This is a juried competition for artists 18 years of age or older, based on demonstrated talent, artistic merit and technique. High School students are not eligible (please see Youth Art Competition).
